Paper Mario: The Origami King takes Mario and Luigi to Toad Town for an origami festival, only to find Princess Peach transformed into origami by the wicked King Olly. With five powerful streamers binding Princess Peach’s Castle, King Olly transports it to a distant mountain with plans to “re-fold” the world. Mario and his new companion Olivia, King Olly’s sister, set out to dismantle the streamers, liberate the kingdom, and stop Olly’s paper-based tyranny. Bowser, also affected by the origami plague, joins forces with Mario to reclaim his folded minions and bring peace to the kingdom.
