Fusion Studio is the world’s most advanced compositing software, designed for visual effects artists, motion graphic designers, and 3D animators. Over the last 30 years, Fusion has been used in thousands of Hollywood blockbuster movies and TV shows. It features a powerful node-based interface that allows users to easily create complex visual effects by connecting various image processing tools. Fusion supports GPU-accelerated performance, VR, 3D capabilities, and unlimited network rendering, making it a top choice for creating broadcast graphics, feature film visual effects, and more.
What’s New in Fusion 18:
Personalized Workflow:
Fusion now offers more ways to personalize your workflow, including customizable toolbars that can be adjusted depending on your current task. These updates enhance efficiency, especially when managing large, complex compositions.
Fusion Compositions as Templates:
You can now save your compositions on the Fusion page as templates to be used on the Edit or Cut pages. This makes it easier to apply the same effects or animations to multiple clips across different sections of your project.
New Animation Curve Modifiers:
The addition of animation curve modifiers allows you to automatically adjust animations when the duration of a composition changes. For example, you can easily stretch, squish, or add effects like bounce, mirror, or loop to keyframe animations, making it easier to retime animations dynamically.
Audio Playback with Waveform Display:
The new audio playback feature on the Fusion page allows you to sync animations precisely to audio, displaying waveforms in the keyframe editor. This makes timing animations to audio much more accurate, whether you’re working with the timeline’s mixdown or individual source clip audio.
Customizable Effect Templates:
Fusion templates enable you to create customized effects and apply them to clips on the Edit or Cut pages. By saving compositions as macros, you can define the parameters to be visible and drag them directly onto clips in your project, making it easy to reuse effects.
Vector Shape Tools for Motion Graphics:
Fusion now includes vector shape tools (ellipse, rectangle, polygon, and star) with boolean operators to combine shapes. These tools allow you to create intricate designs for motion graphics, and the shapes can also serve as sources for particles. You can also animate and transform these shapes with grid, jitter, and offset options.
GPU Accelerated Resolve FX:
Fusion now includes 27 new GPU accelerated Resolve FX. These include noise reduction, sharpening tools, lens blur, light effects, image restoration, color effects, and more, enhancing the ability to apply high-quality effects without compromising performance.
Node Tree Navigation Enhancements:
Large compositions are now easier to navigate thanks to node tree bookmarks. You can quickly jump to any part of the node tree, streamlining your workflow. The layout also supports vertical node trees, giving you more space to view the spline and keyframe editors.
